I had a great experience from the reception to bar the cleaning staff to security guards. The rooms are spacious and modern and clean. Has a lovely bathroom with everything neat and clean. The parking is in the basement so you go directly to your floor where you room are, it was very private and had no unnecessary disturbance. The staff was professional, friendly and helpful. So my overall experience was great. Thank you1 I will most definitely book in again.

Had a booking in November 2021. Everything was confirmed online. Travelled 600km and 6 hours later, turned up at the hotel late afternoon to find the hotel closed. No one in reception, no one in the hotel. Only the spa was open which operates independently from the hotel. The staff at the spa were extremely helpful and guided me to another hotel as I found myself stranded in a new city. All hotels were open expect this one and it would have been nice and polite to inform all your bookings in advance if the plan was to close. No idea why they were closed, but some staff mentioned there were problems with the owner running the place. I will never book this place again. Thankfully I found a really nice 5 star hotel just down the road from this one.

We were there for the spa. Very busy, aircons did not work well. The place lacked the ambience, however the masseur was good.

There's a night club nearby so it was noisy until the early hours of the morning. No hand towel in the bathroom on the first day. Also water in the shower wasn't as hot as I would've liked.

Visited the Spa on the top floor.

- I had good therapist and enjoyed her massage treatment though i didn't enjoy that facial or soaking my feet into the water. My friend was not impressed and did not enjoy her spa experience.

- The spa needs a bit of attention to the aesthetics of the place. Simple thing like no toilet paper that required speaking to many of the ladies before it got sorted. a client should not be asking for this.

-unprofessional to have the staff changing in the small bathroom which clients are using.

- I saw many customers complaining about the service and also opposed to what was advertised Vs offered

The hotel:

- first impression, set in a beautiful area in umghlanga

- parking is too small

- I didn't get to see the rooms so cannot comment.

- Such an awesome view and set up for the pool area but it was not clean and needs attention. Probably a result of Covid and shortage of staff.

The Hotel, is ok, the La Jour SPA is fantastic. The effort they made was super. They arranged water when the hotel said they had no bottled water to offer till the municipal water came back on.

Then at 3.30am guests coming back from a party no doubt made an absolute racket for 30min in the passage. Not all the channels on the TV worked.

From a facilities perspective, I'd give 3 good stars.

La Jour gets 5 Stars.
