Nice rooms, very friendly service and a cute shop with drinks and gifts. And the best part: you can watch penguins in the night from the patio waddling across the parking lot. And if you're lucky, they maybe even pay you a visit at your room window.

I must admit that I was a bit confused as to whether this is an average guest house or an upmarket backpackers. Room was extremely clean and I suppose, the value for money proposition is good due to the location.

Location is lovely, and hotel has lots of potential. Stunning view from the patio. That said, barely slept as other guests were noisy and accumulated around our room (Sea View self catering), plus the penguins were crazy noisy in the morning (fair enough that is outside the control of the owners but there could be some signage to make guests more mindful of those staying in rooms around them). Our rooms were basic albeit comfortable but quite musty. There were no aircons or fans, which on a hot summer night with no air moving is quite uncomfortable. Bathroom facilities ok but not great for tall guests, which my husband and I are. The kitchen facilities were adequate but not that clean and not well thought out for self catering purposes. Overall not a bad stay and I would recommend the hotel based on its location … but it’s more of budget stay.

Very very noisy, the bedroom flooded, very dangerous electric connections in direct contact with flooded floor due to the leeking ceiling, water also came though the door, we had to move the bed as it was directly under the leeks, THEY PROMISED TO GIVE A REFUND, I HEVENT HEARD FROM THEM SINCE. I DON'T RECOMEND THEM AT ALL.
The lady in reception is not blame, she was nice profesional.
They need to make some serious improvements.
Very expensive for what they offer.

Fantastic location for the beach, the penguins and Cape Point. The comfortable and well equipped self catering family unit was perfect for two couples and we so enjoyed the five nights we stayed for a hiking holiday. The management and staff were always available and they were both friendly and professional. The food from the kiosk was delicious and we even had a penguin sleep under our car!

Such a beautiful hotel away from the hustle and bustle. For long stays I can't speak highly enough of staff
A home away from home. You won't want to leave. And even if you don't have a car, you have everything on your doorstep. And of course the magnificent views. Great, great place.

We were away for an anniversary weekend. If you plan to be busy during the day with sightseeing etc and just sleep at the hotel, it will be fine. The noise levels at the hotel during the day is loud and wouldn't say it is worth the money spent. Although a fantastic location, the photos and information on the website are outdated and misleading. They offered a more expensive room "with wifi" which we declined, but when we got there we had wifi in our booked room. Rooms are neat and clean, no room service so remember to take Sunlight to wash coffee cups.
Staff is friendly, however, the hotel will do better under experienced management.
We loved visiting Simon'sTown but will not stay here next time.
