Finally got around to visiting and was blown away by the Beyond Meat burger I had. Combine that with a great cappuccino using beans from Truth Coffee and I was in culinary heaven. Staff were all friendly and helpful and I loved eating there. Definitely coming back soon and can highly recommend it to anyone in Cape Town looking for a nice cup of coffee and a bite to eat.

I had heard of this place a few months back and added it to the list to support such a good cause when I visited Cape Town.
Based on their work it is already a 5 star review but we have to talk about the food. My word, the food blew me away.
Being lunch time I opted for the Risotto. From the first bite it jumped with flavour.
The highlight however was the monster shake. This thing has a warning on the menu but that can not prepare you for what comes out. The whole thing comes on a wooden tray, with some brownie slices and crumbs spread around. Through some magic trick they also had the salted caramel floating in the milkshake meaning it kept coming along while drinking unlike most other milkshakes.
The brownies themselves are delicious to the point where we are already planning a return trip.
I also have to mention the staff who were lovely. There was one guy going around checking on the tables too, making sure everyone was happy and didn't need anything, rudely of me I didn't catch his name as I was so blown away by my milkshake. Always smiling and happy and both times he appeared in a break in conversation.
This is definitely a must visit location.

Food was GREAT and really worth the money. Good wholesome cooking and baking. Coffee is awesome. I highly recommend the bullet coffee!. Service is fantastic, fast and efficient. I had such a good time and experience. This place is better than 99% of restaurants out there. Great location and easily accessible. This place took me by complete surprise and I'm so happy I found it. What a great concept. Highly recommend it!

After visiting VFS, my brother suggested we get coffee. And because he was buying, I quickly suggested this restaurant.

Upon entering, I was met with smiling faces and the familiar sounds of the coffee machine. We placed our order at the barista's station and were seated by a courteous young man. The blue colour scheme and motivational words had me looking left and right to make sure I didn't miss anything. Our order was brought by the same gentleman.

I had the fruit smoothie of the day (sans coconut, dragon fruit, melons or soy milk) and my brother had hot chocolate. The hot chocolate tasted amazing - you didn't even have to add sugar! But my smoothie needed honey. Thankfully, you can add honey to your hearts content u003d) We also got some moist and delicious brownies before we left. And I can gladly say, "Good things happen(ed) over coffee"

Great service! Fantastic food! Happy staff! Beautiful view of the city life with a warm homie feeling. Visiting in the morning is the best time in my opinion. We came for brownies and had way more than that and I am happy with everything! Keep up the great work everyone!

Some really delicious lunch and dessert options. I had the salted caramel brownie - total decadence! They use Truth Coffee, which is a fairly dependable brand. Everything comes with cream! Great place to spend time before renewing one's visa or to have an informal business lunch. The waiters are lovely. Great service in general.

Brownies u0026 Downies is a cute little place in the heart of Cape Town. Besides the great options on the menu and fair prices, the coffee shop has a beautiful initiative: They employ people with mental disorders to promote social inclusion, and this for sure, helps their service to be amazing! A must try from their lunch specials is the vegetarian pie with side salad and croissants!! And obviously, don't forget to try the coffee and brownie! If you book with Feastfox, you not only have a table with your name, but you get 10% off the bill on weekdays mornings! I have too much love for this app.... #feastfox #feastfoxcpt #huntbookfeast #grabatable #smartfoodie #spontaneouseatingout #browniesdowniessa #browniesdownies #supportlocal #autism #downsyndrome #disability #capetown #ctfoodie #capetownbest #lovecapetown #eatout #ilovefoodiesct #capetownfood #foodcapetown #capetownlife #cityofcapetown #capetownmag #capetownglutton
