Great friendly service and well prepared for COVID19.
Rooms are spacious and clean, with everything you would need.
Just the right hotel get-out-of-town feeling in a rustic older town of Stellenbosch is just the perfect mix of old and new.
Near enough to town for a quick coffee and bite to eat and close to many great Bike rides and hikes.
A great weekend getaway!!

Parking is awkward, uncovered, limited space.
The gate doesn't open automatically, but stuff responsible for opening it, isn't always on duty, so one has to get out of the car and look for them. Especially frustrating in the rain.

Breakfast is very poor, lots of preservatives in the juice, yougurt, jam etc.

In the self catering room there's no cutlery, tea facilities, towels and the back door key on arrival. All of that has to be requested from the reception and we were waiting for 2 hours before it was brought to us. In addition one has to pay a large deposit on the back door key and the pool towel.

Receptionist was friendly but not very competent and clueless as to their food menue, room deals and prices, slow on the computer.
Who ever answers the phone when people try to make a booking, is totally incompetent and has to take a long time to check the availability of the rooms, having to first speak to someone who is better informed.
Disappointing , to say the least.

The furnishings and everything about this are past it. Staff are friendly and helpful but this is a below-par place selling its lack of quality as 'old world charm'. There is nothing charming about an old Tv that doesn't work.

Everything is passable. But when I asked for water, I was told no free water for guests. Drinks I would understand, but water. Seems a bit silly. Customer service needs work.

Such a stunning hotel with such lovely staff. Our family stayed there in July and we were treated like royalty in the middle of the Covid pandemic. Gerty the manager and went so out of her way to accommodate us in every way! The hotel of clean, and well located. Such a perfect stay for us!

Hmmmm. It’s a good place to stay if you are a very simple person. I’m not sure why breakfast isn’t buffet daily, leads to very long waits for food in the dining room as well as unnecessary waiting around amongst people (if you are sensitive to that)
I wasn’t sure why I was given two beds when I booked for one person but what annoyed me the most is how they made the bed. If you are turning two singles into a bed, use double bed linen! Almost fell to my death several times in my sleep????

The place is very nice and cozy, has good services provided. The street where the place located is very small but safe. Very close to good restaurants ????
