Celebrated my birthday there yesterday. We didnt have a reservation but they made a plan for us, so thankful for that.
The food,the services the ambiance, the prices,the portion 10/10. Thank you so much to the team for taking care of us from the moment we entered till we left ????

We went to Hussar Grill in Rondebosch to celebrate a friend Bday. While the place feels cozy and warm (perfect in a cold and wet summer day), it also feels very narrow. We were sitted by the stairs, table of 6, and felt a bit squizzed. All of us were satisfied bout our starters and mains (even if one had to send it back because it got cold waiting on the shelves by the Kitchen) for too long. The main issue was the wait to get our starters and then our mains (took a while…) Also our mains being brought when starters plates are still waiting on our table is not ideal. To be honest the experience got a bit messy at the point. Too bad.

Celebrated my 26th birthday here tonight with family and friends and was spectacular. The steak was juicy and the malva pudding was exquisite

It's a very chilled place to dine at. I find it very small though, hence there is no space to hang around freely. I loved ???? their spicy chicken livers! Would wish for the service to be faster. The waiters provide a very good service though. My veges were more boiled than roasted, I didn't like it.

I’m always very impressed with HG but not tonight. Decided to order chicken at Rondebosch instead of steak and rather disappointed ☹️.
The chicken was burnt to the point of tasting bitter! Should have stuck with the steak ????

I suggest you try all the other steak houses in Cape Town before you come here.

Once you visit this spot, you won't want to go anywhere else. Never had a bad meal here. It's better than the other hussars grills. It's old and dinky and crowded and loud and I go there for my steak fix whenever I can.

This place does justice to steak and can rightfully call themselves a steak house.

okay fair enough did not book a table so sat at the bat. Ordered the house red - really good. Ordered the snails for starters always had them before lots of garlic sauce and clarified butter - yummy. What can I say they arrived in some white glumpy sauce - cold and yucky. I hope the steaks were better as I left thereafter. What I used to live about the Hussar and the ambience was gone the Hostess was no where to be seen
