Service is what makes this hotel the ideal destination for business travel. The staff went up and above to ensure I had a pleasant stay. I also had a team of 10+ people for an extended period of time (4 weeks) and the staff even hosted a barbecue and other events on the weekend. I'm very grateful for meeting such an awesome.

Lovely service from staff members - very helpful!
My mom and I spent a few days in Ballito planning my upcoming wedding and needed to find accommodation at the last minute.

We were greeted kindly and professionally by the front desk, checked in easy peasy ( a very special Thanks to Sam for making the changes to our room to suit my mom's needs)

The rooms were clean, crisp and perfect for what we needed. The rooms have air conditioning, television, mini fridge and a coffee and tea station. We chose a double room - beds were super comfortable!

The hotel has a pool - which was nice! And loads of sun loungers, perfect for dozing off in.

We regretfully didn't try the breakfast station, although it did smell scrumptious!

Only issue we had was the location - close to the highway, again perfect for travellers, but not an ideal spot. But I have to admit VERY conveniently located to Ballito Lifestyle centre and more! Also, perhaps due to the recent flooding, but the wifi connection was frustrating. Other than those superficial faults - again, just my preference nothing negative towards the Hampshire team - our stay was fine! We felt safe, we were never disturbed and the rooms exceeded expectations.

I would recommend the Hampshire Hotel for conferences, Business trips and over night stays definitely.

We stayed at the Hampshire from 29 June - 04 July 2022. On the 29 June, one of the guests tried entering our room. We thought that it was once-off so didnt report it. On the 30 June, we arrived to find a party going on in the basement parking with chairs and people all over the parking area. It was loud group, most of whom were clearly intoxicated and alcohol clearly visible. Upon reporting to management, we were told that they were guests at the hotel and the party was acceptable. While hubby was at reception reporting this, another guest arrived to complain that alcohol bottles were being broken in the parking area, so we had to park in the reception area. In addition to the drunk and noisy guests returning to their room at all times of the late night and early morning, guests tried entering our room three times between 2am and 3.30am. At this point, we were worried that someone might be successful in entering the room so reported this to reception and were assured that this would be investigated to find only out the next morning, that the night manager who I spoke with did not even make a note of the incident. Hubby asked for us to be moved to another hotel but there seemed to be no other accommodation available for the duration of our stay. The generator is only able to keep the lights on at reception and the hallways so we were given a rechargeable light for use during loadshedding, with a reminder to charge the light while the electricity was on. Breakfast was rather disappointing, with the buffet trays being empty on some mornings and then having to wait ~20-30 minutes for food to be cooked because there was just one chef to cook for all guests. We were refunded because of all the issues experienced but once a question of safety arises, it is really no wonder that this seemed to be the only hotel who had accommodation available on the Durban July weekend.

We arrived at the hotel knowing that there was a water crisis in the area due to the recent storms. The staff were excellent in ensuring that we had water constantly. The Mangeress personally ensured that ALL guests were taken care off. It's amazing to see that although there were issues, the level of excellent service had not dropped. Big up to all that were on duty during that time!

I had good company but the hotel is just average and not so morden. Too pricey for the service really- over a cool R1100 without breakfast.

The hotel does not provide dinner. But they allow you to book bed, breakfast and Dinner. Guests can order dinner from Mr Delivery via the hotel and they are charged R20 for the delivery. The Air conditioning inside the room is terrible.

Though I was only attended a meeting, but I was impressed of the cleanliness and professionalism of the front desk officials.
