My husband and I had the most delicious brunch at John Dory's Bay West today. My husband's birthday was in March and he received a R100 gift voucher from John Dory's Member club to use any time during his birthday month (Thank you JD's, that is a welcome birthday gift!). He enjoyed the breakfast Special with bottomless coffee and I enjoyed the BigCatchPlatter with grilled fish! The waitress and staff were so helpful and friendly! Our food was as usual perfectly prepared and we enjoyed a lovely meal! I can recommend the BigCatchPlatter special, which is still available, for all the seafood lovers. 8 Calamari strips, 2 JD fillets, 4 JD prawns, served with rice and chips.

Customer service was fantastic. The food was very delicious, especially their captain's hook platter. Keep up the good work.

Staff was amazing. They were all friendly full of jokes. Keep asking if we were ok. It is worth going to John Dory's Bay West

We went for the Sunday Seafood Platter for two. The service was excellent. Patty was a really great waitron. Our food was cold, unfortunately (except the chips) but we addressed it with the restaurant and they were very quick to respond. Great value for money. And a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Staff was unatentive. Waiter did not right down order and got the sauce choice wrong on one meal and the sushi bean curd we ordered samon and got crab. Waitress was no where to be seen to rectify the error so we just ate it. Only showed up once we were done. The sole was so tiny for the price we paid. Don't know what happened as they used to be a great place to eat at.

I'm sorry. I've eaten at John Dory's Baywest many times. The service and food has been getting worse over time. Tonight was the first time in 30 years that I didn't leave at least a 10 percent tip at a restaurant. The wine was good. The service was probably the second worst I've had in 30 years. The main meal, although edible, was not good in any way. The cherry on top was when I received my peppermint crisp tart. The menu says tennis biscuits with caramel, cream, and peppermint crisp. None of which were in the dish. I don't know what biscuits they were, but they weren't tennis biscuits. The "caramel" was instant pudding, the cream was not cream (who knows what it was) and the peppermint crisp was some freaking baking chocolate rubbish with green stuff in-between. I cannot even explain how extremely angry I was after wasting 2hrs of my life eating the rubbish I had to endure. 2hrs for a main meal and pudding. Pathetic. By the time I got my meal, my wife and I had finished a bottle of wine slowly. We waited half an hour between our plates being taken away and getting someones attention to order pudding.
I'm sorry, never again.

Service was ok but the food was disappointing today which is unusual. The Sea Shell promo wasn't as tasty and fresh and the prawns were mushy. At least my cappuccino was on point. I'm hoping the next experience will be better.
