I had a fun time. For a compact space it felt spacious. I like that they have table tennis at their store. It's really refreshing. The play area can be closed to contain the noise. I ordered a flat white, it was made at a suitable temperature, warm enough to drink. The milk used was taste with some sweet nodes to it. A great beverage when starting to take your coffee without sugar. Friendly customer service. They have an innovative means of accessing the menu via QR code on the dinning in tables, although they do have a menu at the counter, which is where you place your order. You order at the counter, and your order is served at your table. Hot and cold beverages are available, breakfast: toasted sandwiches, muesli, yogurt, fruits and etc are sold. It's a great gem.

Great coffee, great vibe, great service. Wish the space was a bit bigger, so you could comfortably settle in and work from there.

Awful customer service. I buy the beans a lot, their specialty coffees are my staple and really really good. But, I've consistently had awful customer service, I have to drive an hour to get there to have a coffee experience. I asked the barista what they recommended, I want to try something interesting. The response was: "You know it's expensive right", not anything about what coffee pairs nicely with which brew method. I've now been told several times by the staff how expensive the coffee is. If it's so expensive that customers are consistently surprised, them maybe display the damn price.

Another time I asked to have the pour over, and the response was: "are you sure? It's expensive."

I've taken friends to get coffee several times and they've commented on the customer service being poor and not wanted to go back.

I've heard the service is better during the week, but as I have to drive an hour, I mostly go on the weekend.

Today, the bill was messed up, and instead of being helpful, the dude looked at me and said "my guy" repeatedly.

When 250g of coffee costs R500, the customer service better be good. Father coffee looks to be riding on the quality of the coffee and not it's bad attitude baristas.

To be clear, I've not complained, it raised my voice, and I've not asked to see the manager, but today was the last straw.

Came here as i read the review. However not good experience here. One of staff seems like he is having bad day.

Also doesnt explain properly whats the difference between menu.

So i stick with cappu single shot and the coffee is weak almost couldnt taste the coffee… i dont think its normal for south africa standard coffee shop for this specialty.

Not coming back.

Unfortunately didn't have a good experience with the staff today. The gentleman helping me was not the nicest and a bit condescending when I asked about the coffee. Sad because I was keen to try this place for a while. We definitely won't be going back.

If space contributes to the taste of coffee then Father Coffee got it right. The space is beautiful and accommodating any day kind of mood from reading space to meet up. The coffee is carefully roasted. Someone really translated their love for coffee and brought it to us. The Father family directly represents the diversity of culture in South Africa giving the space a different young, alive, retro and hippy vibe. Great Coffee, Great Food, Great Space, Great Escape.
