This venue was a breath of fresh air after a bad experience with another local "hotel". The staff were friendly and accommodating especially since we had to leave early and arrive very late! The garden is a very pretty place to just chill with a coffee! Beautiful scenery in the garden and there is a lovely pool for the warmer days! Best of all is the tortoise that roams the garden ! Styling is a bit specific and might be to a particular taste but it is lovely over all!

What an amazing hidden gem located in Houghton. Close to major shopping malls and the highway. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean. What I love most about it is the fact that it reminds me of being on one of the Greek islands. It is extremely tranquil. You definitely would not think you’re in the hustle and bustle of Jozi. A lovely getaway for those who want to just relax and detox from all the stressors of life.

Stayed over on the 26 June 2022 for a friend's wedding. We had stayed in the little cottages on the outside. Firstly it was during load shedding. Power to come on at 10pm. Power was off and on all night - Generator only for the reception room. My room was freezing cold and requested another blanket. I was told unfortunately the bedding supplied is all they have. And offered a complementary coke because my needs could not be met. Roof was leaking. Mould in my room. No hot water and aircon had no remote to work. Very very unhappy in the service. Absolutely amazing staff going the extra mile but place needs a serious readjustment!!!!!!!!!!

I have never been so DISGUSTED in a hotel in my life.
We booked 11 rooms from the presidential to the standard rooms months in advance for some wedding guests to stay with us over night and enjoy breakfast with us.

The presidential suite was obviously something I was so looking forward to on my wedding night and was just completely disappointed.
The ceiling was falling apart, the jacuzzi didn't have water in, the bathroom heater didn't work, steam room didn't work, cigarette burns everywhere, mould and filthy bath, the TV didn't work and neither did the airconditioning.
I understand there was loadshedding from 8pm - 10pm but we didn't have power all night. The receptionist kept coming into my room without permission as well as calling the phone once I had kept the key in the door to keep it locked. After telling her multiple times that she needed to wait for my husband to get to the hotel as I did not feel comfortable dealing with her.
The handle to the patio door fell out in my hand thank goodness I stopped the door before being locked outside with a handle that didn't work.
One of our guests stayed in a cottage filled with mould, leaking ceiling, no power AT ALL and they were refused extra blankets and told they could have a free can of coke instead.

Now I could go on for ages about everything wrong with this place and why I WILL NEVER BE BACK.

Here's what made my decision set in stone. When speaking to the manager and I presume owner. They had told me that I needed to understand that the load shedding had destroyed their DB box (a completely different story to what the electrician told me).
We needed to understand that is was a freak accident and has never happened before but now going through other reviews I see this is yet again another lie. I also do not understand how mould can be blamed on loadshedding? I'm sure if any health inspector was there they would be horrified.

Villa Simonne your hotel is disgusting, your staff is unsettling and your management needs to be trained.

Do better.

Feels like you are out of the busy city life with the amazing landscape and gardens, rooms are breath taking.

Amazing accommodation with the most friendly staff. It was a breath of fresh air staying at this accommodation after having a poor experience with our original booking at *another* place. Especially since they accommodated us last minute.

A delightful hotel for either a stop over or a couple of days and if you are attending a function at Shepstone Gardens. +-250m from Killarney Shopping Mall which has all the necessary shops.
Villa Simonne staff are exceptional and I commend them. The breakfast is a generous English breakfast and the menu on a whole is very satisfying ????. In general my wife and I had a delightful 4 day stay and will return.
