I found the service to be exceptional. Thandeka and her team were really impressive. They were all continuously helpful and friendly.
Sadly the same can’t be said for the food. We went there two nights in a row because we were on a “Date night” package and Aarya was the only restaurant available as an option.
I can’t blame the chefs either, I feel the ingredients that they’ve been given is just not up to standard.
The one night my husband had a T-bone steak, it was cooked rare as per request, but it was so tough and flavorless. I had the Mussel starter which tasted more like a bucket of water with rust in it. I also had the creamy arrabbiata, it was average to say the least.
The second night my husband had the seafood pasta, again, pretty average. I had the trio of curries. The bean curry and the prawn curry tasted like tomato paste. I couldn’t eat it. The award winning butter chicken was, just like the other dishes, pretty average.
I think the most disappointing part of most of the dishes was the stale toasted roti thing that was apparently a naan bread. Calling that a naan bread is just an insult to your customers intelligence.
I really hope something changes, if the food could be on par with the staff you’d have happy customers.
