My first time here, on recommendation. ¾ way into my meal I found a burnt match in the food. I pointed it out to the waiter who apologized and took it away. No compensation was offered but I was happy to pay the bill because the food was really good. On mentioning it to the owner as I was leaving, she immediately became defensive u0026 disbelieving, asking me, "So what do you want? In 32yrs I never had a customer find a match!" Her attitude was unprofessional and ruined the dining experience. Doubt I'll be back as I'd planned a booking there in August. Seems if you're not a regular, you'll get lip. Beware.

We love Piccola for a bite to eat if you want to avoid crowds. Based in a busy shopping center, and the seating is mostly outside on the pavement so the vibe is low key but they have some of the best pizza in Pretoria. It is best to book ahead as they have limited tables. We love the wine!

An awesome little gem, the food is delicious, the wood fired pizzas are amazing and the pasta is generously portioned.

This is my favourite Italian restaurant in Pretoria. BEST pizza and pasta by a long shot. Friendly service from great staff. Highly recommended!

We love the cosy feeling. I had the filled chicken breast and polenta. A definite must have. My husband had a pizza and it was perfect. Service was friendly.

We enjoyed our first visit to Piccola Italia. Staff set up a table on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant so we could eat outside and service was attentive. The food was excellent. My generous portion of Osso Buco was flavorful and tender, and my son really liked his Spaghetti Polpette (spaghetti and meatballs). The vanilla and chocolate milkshakes were also good.

My only complaints were that it took at least 45 minutes for the food to be served and there were no distractions for hungry children like my son. He eventually found a couple of other boys to play tag with along the strip mall sidewalk. I plan to return, knowing that the food may take some time to prepare.
