Lovely day out, but would definitely recommend options to stay in the area longer and enjoy the hiking opportunities. We walked up to the Point and then out to the lighthouse so there was a fair amount of walking, though there are plenty of stunning views accessible from the funicular which is just a short walk from the car park. The toilets could be kept cleaner and I nearly lost my lunch to a bird, but it was a fantastic visit and I will definitely go back for longer next time I am in the Western Province.

Once you are here, you can either take the funicular or hike up. Funicular cost R$70 round trip, hiking up is free will take 25 to 45 minutes depend how many photos you take on the way up. Try to explore the right hand side first, then head up to the top. When you are done, take the stair down, 25 feet on your right, there is a small gate that allows you the hike to other side, ignore the hike information said 1.5 or 5 hour round trip, the walkway is about 0.5 mile one way, but it’s really worth it to go.

An absolutely magical place to be where you can experience the South-Western most point in South Africa; see the 2 oceans meet; ride up to the lighthouse using the funicular u0026 observe the baboons of Western Cape! It's a full day adventure worth the cost of sunscreen!

Overcrowded in the summer season, but still a great view at the two oceans.
Taking the funicular might be a nice experience but it only takes 20 minutes to walk the way, so maybe you take a one way ticket up and walk down.
The lighthouse itself is closed, but from it's platform you got a fascinating view down the hill to the surroundings.

Cape point is a gorgeous nature reserve with views in literally every direction.

You can climb to the lighthouse from the parking area, or enjoy a meal with breathtaking views of the bay before making you way up to the viewing areas and lighthouse.

Should you be unable to make the journey to the lighthouse by foot -or if you're just lazy like us- the funicular is a life saver that ensures than anyone can enjoy those spectacular views.

For a nominal fee, you can travel up and down the steep incline in a jiffy. Although all areas are not wheelchair accessible (walking trails are narrow, steep and rocky beyond a certain point), there is space to wander around and enjoy the views of the ocean and national park regardless of whether you're on foot or have difficulty moving around.

What an amazing experience. Good paths, nice train/cable car to ride on for the less fit. Very good view and a telescope for a R5 fee. Awesome views

One of the most breathtaking places to visit. Beautiful views of two oceans meeting, amazing fynbos vegetation and dramatic cliffs falling into the ocean. The funicular ride up is a hot with kids.
