Clean venue

wide variety of gym equipment and a big facility

pool water temp is good for hard and easy swimming sessions
can do with a bit better ventilation, especially when nee chemicals were added to clean the water

queries unfortunately “will be escalated” but I am still to get someone that will take down my details (so feedback can be given). so talk is cheap when problems / issues are raised

parking is safe

They wanted ZAR 325 for a day pass for 1 hour use of the gym. While half the price of Virgin Manly Maine. At least the guy at reception agreed that it is not a fair price, Will go to a platinum planet fitness instead. Shame that Virgin insist on being so elitist. I used to be a member for years when I lived in Namibia but find independent gyms so much friendly and more welcoming now days.

Excellent gym, well maintained, everything you need from pool, weights, open area, treadmills, wattbikes, spinning, sauna

Have to pay a R325 "guest fee" just to be able to play squash once with a friend who has a membership. Not for the month, everytime.

My contract ended last year.

I cancelled my membership, however they said I still needed to pay for the month of April. They can't tell me why I need to pay for the whole month. They Wouldn't show me my contract where these terms are stipulated.

This is very fustrating and I lost my trust in them.

I will advise people not to join Virgin Active Menly or any Virgin active and to rather join the Planet Fitness where you contract is properly explained to you, The Equipment is newer and the monthly fee is more affordable.

More than 14 cardio equipment out-of-order during recent visit. Head office, do you think this is an acceptable experience that your members receive from Virgin Active, specifically the Menlyn branch?

Great facilities, lovely staff and classes. Really enjoy coming here, the ambience is nice
