Fine dining is how I would define this resturant was definitely a good experience highly recommend if you want dining pleasure....
The steak was amazing medium rare melt in your mouth deliciousness and presentation was immaculate, the service impeccable !!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Black Sprout Restaurant at the Menlyn Boutique Hotel. I loved the sculptures strategically placed in and around the restaurant. This is a unique dining experience and the service and food was fantastic. Definitely worth a second and even third visit.

Enjoyed our visit. A small and inconspicuous little corner. Although the menu is small, the food is great and staff is friendly. Liquor list is also a little limited.
An overall great evening and would recommend a visit.

I liked the vibe ,great place for intimate dates. The menu was limited to but the food was absolutely delicious

I took my friend here for her graduation lunch and I’m glad I did. We both had a lovely time. It’s quite unbelievable how good the food this, we had quite a few items on the menu and each of them were delicious. We sat on the deck on a sunny Wednesday afternoon so it was beautifully quiet.

Shout out to the chef and Thabang. Y’all nailed it man.

The chef has changed and the vegetarian menu has been dropped, though there is still an emphasis on fine dining. They will cater to personal diets, but that's far from the same as a dedicated vegetarian menu, unfortunately.
We enjoyed this restaurant in a guest house and it was easy to find, near the N1 motorway. The vegetarian tasting menu (at the time) was a delight and there is a reasonable wine selection. The chairs are not the best, so ask for options (they have a few that are more upright).

I went the The Black Bamboo for the first time and tried the 7 course wine pairing menu.
We were welcomed with a house cocktail. The food was absolutely delicious. The portions are small so you are able to actually eat and enjoy every course !! You receive about half of a regular glass of wine, which was perfect since there are seven glasses!
Outdoor seating is cozy and comfortable! The staff was very friendly.
Great for a special occasion or night out !!
